Welcome to the Ohio Traffic Safety Office grant management system.
The Ohio Traffic Safety Office (OTSO) provides federal funds from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to eligible entities to be used in part for, but not limited to, traffic safety education, enforcement and awareness.

Funds are to be used for short-term highway safety support, with the intent that other sources of funding will sustain programs over the long term.  The federal grant program operates on a reimbursement basis.

OTSO’s competitive grant process solicits grant proposals for highway safety activities from state agencies, non-profit organizations, colleges and universities, hospitals, political subdivisions and other interested groups within Ohio based on fatal and serious injury crash problem identification.  A targeted approach ensures a statewide effort that will satisfy state-level highway safety goals.  Proposals submitted for funding of traffic safety activities must demonstrate cost effectiveness and the potential to positively impact the traffic-related goals both at the state and local levels.
